Museum exploration for kids ages five and up.
The Museum of Arts and Design offers diverse opportunities for family members of all ages to create art and design alongside local artists using both new and traditional methods in a studio setting.
Studio Sunday
Studio Sunday is a hands-on, art-making experience for multi-generational visitors to learn new skills and ideas together in the Museum’s art studio. Taking place on the first Sunday of select months, families are welcome to drop in any time between 10:00 am and 1:00 pm. Studio Sundays are led by a Museum Artist-in-Residence, free with museum admission, and open to anyone ages 5 and up.

Upcycle Your Clothes with MAD Artist-in-Residence Jennie Maydew
Embroider, embellish, and refresh old jackets and jeans with MAD Artist-in-Residence Jennie Maydew in this hands-on workshop. Participants should bring in a piece of clothing they want to modify, all other materials will be provided.

Clay Self-Portraits with MAD Artist-in-Residence Natalia Arbelaez
Join MAD Artist-in-Residence Natalia Arbelaez and work in a 7,000-year-old pre-Columbian-style of pottery to create a mythical self-portrait out of clay.
Stroller Tours
Stroller Tours of MAD exhibitions are especially designed for parents and caregivers accompanied by babies 18 months and younger. Tours take place when the galleries are closed to the public. Led by MAD docents, this experience offers a relaxed and engaging experience for art and design lovers. Free for Dual/Family Members. Join today!
